Self-calibration techniques are performed with the following methods likesensor calibration wrt sensor and sensor calibration wrt soil. For self-calibrationwrt sensor, we deployed the sensor in different states of soil with differentmoisture content. We observed that the sensor degrades after being exposedwith the soil for long time due to different environmental conditions. Therefore,self-calibration techniques play a vital role when the sensor degrades from itsbaseline. Both lab and field deployment results show a change in frequencyresponse and capacitive response with respect to gravimetricwater content. We need that with the help of self-calibration technique when sensor is deployedin any type of soil and for a long period of time will be able to attain its baselineby its own when get diverted from its path.
