    Abstract
The transportation sector is an eminent and indispensable part of the development of an economy. An potent transportation system supports social and economic benefits and opportunities. When transportation systems are imprecise in terms of capacity or in terms of reliability, they have an economic cost associated. Efficient transportation reduces costs in many economic sectors, while inefficient transportation increases the related costs. In smart transportation and logistics process, there is an urgent need for transparency and integrity control in supply chains. All of this can be achieved by automating the current process with rightly optimized solutions. This enables end-to-end connectivity and increases the quality of decision making involved in the entire process. In smart transportation and logistics process, vehicles play the most prominent role. Advancement in technologies used in vehicles in conjunction with the complexity involved in the current transportation system had induced to revitalize the concept of maintenance. Maintenance being an inescapable event in the life-cycle of an vehicle. This project based on the notion to provide a solution to find optimal maintenance and replacement schedule for an vehicle. In maintenance of an vehicle, the maintenance implemented by the predetermined time interval in order to reduce the probability of failure and to prevent functionality degradation. The prime factor that ensures the efficiency of an vehicle is the availability of an vehicle. In replacement, the component's replacement is done if the component's vulnerability to failure increases with time.
