dc.description.abstract | Biomedical information retrieval is a challenging problem in information retrieval. In this work, we have reported the retrieval results for the verbose queries in biomedical information retrieval. The primary objective of this thesis was to exploreabout the performance of basic retrieval techniques in biomedical domainwith main focus on verbose queries. Predictors play an important role in predictingthe performance of the queries in advance before actual retrieval. The performanceof predictors has been reported for different datasets. The experiments for selective query expansion based on the predictor's performance has been done. | |
