Abstract: Now a days, the defence technology is heading towards new innovation along with advanced implementation. Monitoring the soldier's activity and health at the frontline area of operation forms an essential entity in determining the well being of soldier as well as assessment of threat. In order rally round the same, a smart soldier system incorporating Embedded Electronics and Wireless communication has been proposed. The primary attributes to the system are the motion/ activity detection and the physiological health of the soldier. Further, the parameters which are vital to be measured in the area where the soldier is operating are determined. The former is the primary clause to determine the condition of the soldier based on which decisions may be taken by the control room either to send an additional back up or to send medical help for any sort of injury to the soldier. In order to integrate the system conveniently on the uniform or a bullet proof jacket, the sensors should be wirelessly connected with each other with each sensor acting as a node and forming a body area network. This wireless communicating sensors on the human body forming a network is called as a Wireless Body Area Network Wearable technology is a hallmark for internet of things. The functions and applications of wearable technology is easily realizable using Internet of Things. Upon integration of wearable devices as a network, the data collected by devices can be customized. It can be drawn that wearable technology is a subset of Internet of Things. Wearable electronics are preeminent when used for sensor nodes in Wireless Sensor Networks. Various wearable sensors that measure human physiological parameters can be interconnected through wireless network technology such a zigbee, Wi-fi, WLAN etc. One such network is a Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN).
